After my research, these are my thoughts:

I have heard some people say that putting children into a separate school is like putting them into an institution.  I disagree.  I have been able to find many positive aspects of private schools for children with autism.  There are drawbacks as well.  However, I believe that some children can have their needs better met in a private school.  When a child has severe autism, their needs may be better met in a more personalized setting.  These schools are highly beneficial to help children transition into public schools.  I was able to go to one of these schools and I saw first hand the difference that the school was able to make in the lives of so many children.  Being at the school made me interested in becoming a teacher there.  Through more research and thought about private schools I thought that I could be swayed otherwise.  But, I have found that the teachers love the school and it has so many benefits for the children that are enrolled in them.  Becoming a teacher at a school for children with autism would give me a great experience and such joy in helping children with autism reach their potential.
